The Club Monaco design team’s “California road trip” inspiration from spring must have stayed with them. Their fall 2012 look book just landed in our inbox, and they’ve done an east coast prep meets west coast ease collection that we’re kind of in love with.
According to a release, they also took inspiration from “Linda McCartney’s Life in Photographs, Sonia Delaunay’s masterful block prints and the leading men of the Silent Generation.” While trendier girls will go for H&M’s off-the-runway fall collection, those of us with a preference easy preppy staples will go for this one. If Club Monaco took inspiration from any runway, it would have been Band of Outsiders (known for an L.A. take on preppy style)–especially the tailored shirt dresses, bandage skirts and crisp button downs.
As we’ve come to expect from Club Monaco, these are smart, practical pieces that you’re not just going to get tired of after one season. Plus–they look way more expensive than they are. We want everything. Click through for the full look book–the clothes are set to hit stores (and online) in July, August and September.
