Get Lit (Up) at the Museum of Art and Design's LED Ball

Need a night of cool culture for a good cause? The Museum of Art and Design's (MAD) Young Patrons Gala can always be counted on to provide a night of fun without the usual stuffiness of more traditional museum benefit parties. This year's fete has been dubbed the LED Ball, and the glowy theme will be carried out through the whole museum--from a video installation on the outside of the building to fantastical lit-up exhibits inside. The soiree will be co-chaired by New York Ranger and former Vogue intern Sean Avery, Nate Berkus and designer Dror Benshetrit. You may also run into Stacey Bendet, Chris Benz, Andrew Bevan, Derek Blasberg, and Leigh Lezark, who are among the many notables on the Hosting Committee.

The Rapture, AndrewAndrew, and Chelsea Leyland will all DJ sets, which will hopefully put you in the mood to spend a little coin. You can check out the auction catalog here for some of the techno wonders that you can bid on.

The proceeds of the evening will benefit the museum's Education and Exhibition Programs, including their program for New York City public school students--for many students it's the only studio art time they'll ever get, because of educational budget cutbacks.

Fun, music, lights, and a good cause? Tickets start at $125--come on, that's less than you'd spend on a spree at H&M. You can buy tickets here. So break out your glow sticks and get going.
