Fashion houses like Chloe and YSL create scents inspired by Paris, and so does Paris Hilton–only her inspiration is herself. The heiress’s latest scent Dazzle, which will be sold in a pink diamond-inspired falcon with platinum jewel-bedecked cap (naturally), is meant to express her personality.
“Creating a new fragrance or two each year has been a great way to express the changes I have gone through,” Hilton told WWD. “Now I have a whole wardrobe of them to choose from, from light and beachy to mysterious and sexy.” Hmmm, wonder what happened lately to inspire the floral scent with a pink champagne base (you can’t make this stuff up).
Here’s the kicker–Hilton is spritzing all the way to the bank. The fifteen scents she already has with marketer and distributor Parlux is believed to be worth $1.5 billion, according to WWD, and it is predicted Dazzle will generate at least another $20 million.
Hilton has had a relatively low profile the past few years, and somehow while we were paying more attention to her former besties like Nicole and Kim, she built an empire. She has 16 product lines available worldwide including everything from watches to footwear and handbags and is expected to generate $140 million in 2012 alone. She also has 7.3 million Twitter followers and 1.3 million Facebook fans at her fingertips.
Next up she plans to open a nightclub called Azure Beach Club in the Philippines and has an album dropping this summer. “It will be a dance album and I cannot wait for my fans to hear it.”
