Jenna Lyons gets a lot of love from the fashion industry for turning J. Crew into a must-wear brand–but just as integral (if not more so) to the company’s transformation is CEO Mickey Drexler, who is finally getting rightful credit in CNBC‘s new doc, J. Crew and the Man Who Dressed America.
The segment, which will premiere Thursday, May 24th at 10 pm, gives a candid look into the inner-workings of J. Crew–from sourcing fabric with Drexler in Italy, to styling the catalog with Jenna, and maximizing J. Crew stores’ selling power. The doc also includes interviews with industry vets like Libby Wadle, and Anna Wintour who says of the brand: “It just didn’t really enter the conversation until Mickey was there.”
