And the Latest Designer Collab We Never Saw Coming Is...Narciso Rodriguez for Kohl’s

It's been a week of head-scratching designer collaboration reveals. First H&M announced their next collab with Maison Martin Margiela. And today, Narciso Rodriguez, the man behind Caroline Bisset's iconic wedding dress--and many a Michelle Obama outfit--is taking his minimalist aesthetic to the high street. The designer has created a line for Kohl’s, WWD is reporting.

Rodriguez is expected to unveil the limited-run capsule collection soon, and apparently it will be the first installment of a more permanent collaboration between the designer and the retailer. Neither Rodriguez or Kohl’s have officially confirmed the new partnership, however we trust WWD's sources and while the news is unexpected, it's not hard to believe--for either parties.

Kohl’s already carries a successful line designed by Vera Wang, called Simply Vera, so it makes sense the retailer would want to continue in a more fashion-forward direction with a new designer collaboration. Rodriguez, for all his talent and celebrity fans, has remained relatively low profile over the years--a partnership with a mass retailer will no doubt make him more of a household name outside of the fashion industry.

Little is known about the collection, said to launch in the fall, but we're hoping for minimalist and uber-sophisticated dresses and separates. I mean, what else could you expect from Narciso?

Are you excited for this collaboration?
