Diane von Furstenberg is one popular lady when it comes to the CFDA: The organization announced today that the designer will continue her reign as their president until at least 2014, WWD is reporting, making this her fourth term as president since her election in 2006 (the elections are held every two years) and the second time the board has extended her tenure. In other words, DVF is doing a kickass job and they want her to keep chugging along.
"Diane has done an excellent job as CFDA president," Steven Kolb, CFDA chief creative officer, told the trade. "The time and resources she gives and the vision she has created is a huge benefit for our organization and industry."
Along with the news of DVF's position, the CFDA named 26 designers who will be joining the organization, bringing to the total number of members to 427. Which will no doubt make organization-wide meetings super fun.
The new members are:
Lisa Perry, Lauren Moffat, Rachel Zoe, Nili Lotan of Nili Lotan Design Studio, Tadashi Shoji, Emily Current and Meritt Elliott of Current/Elliot, Tabitha Simmons, LeAnn Nealz of Juicy Couture, Pamela Love, Shimon & Ariel Ovadia of Ovadia and Sons, Jean Michel Cazabat, Yvan Mispelaere of Diane von Furstenburg, Joseph Altuzarra of Altuzarra, Jeffrey Monteiro of Bill Blass, Gemma Redux's Rachel Dooley, Judy Geib, Paul Marlow of Loden Dager, Coomi's Coomi Bhasin, Gabriela Perezutti of Candela NYC, Commando's Kerry O'Brien, Jana Matheson of Judith Leiber, Vince Camuto of The Camuto Group and Cushnie et Ochs' Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs.
