Back in June we found out that renowned war photographer Steve McCurry would be shooting the 2013 Pirelli calendar. While there was a flurry of gossip about whether or not the now street legal Karlie Kloss would appear in the calendar–which usually features tons of full frontal nudity–it turns out that Adriana Lima is making a very different kind of “first time” appearance.

Lima, thanks to behind-the-scenes photos on Vanity Fair Italy (via HuffPo), appears to be the first model to ever shoot the calendar while visibly pregnant. It sounds like this version of the famed Pirelli calendar will be a bit more high brow, with the women acting as “protagonists involved in the support of foundations, NGOs and humanitarian projects: it will be the ‘calendar of the soul,’” according to Vanity Fair. Which is a far cry from last year’s Mario Sorrenti-shot calendar, which was definitely much more focused on Lara Stone’s breasts instead of her soul.

While we still don’t know if Karlie will make an appearance, the following models definitely do: Elisa Sednaoui, Petra Nemcova, Isabeli Fontana, Liya Kebede, and Kyleigh Kuhn. It’s worth noting that none of them are nude, at least in these shots, as is generally the custom for the Pirelli calendar. McCurry did say, “I want to portray women who are sexy without being naked.”
