The first two days of the Olympics have been pretty exciting to say the least. Starting it all off? Swimmer Ryan Lochte basically wiped the floor with Michael Phelps in the 400m individual medley, winning gold while Phelps didn't even place. And while you can't accept your first gold medal of the Games without a bit of flair, Lochte popped in his American flag diamond grill--as one does at the Olympics.

If you watched any of the video intros with the athletes, you will have learned that Lochte has 130 pairs of sneakers and a blingy watch collection. But we certainly didn't see the grill coming.

And that shiny mouth jewelry almost cost him his medal. A USA Swimming rep told USA Today that officials informed Lochte he wouldn't be given his gold unless he spit out the bling before hitting the podium. So obviously he did, but he popped that baby back in asap and flashed the grin that embarrassed a nation.

A grill, Ryan? Seriously? (As a wise man noted while watching this go down,"That puts the 'assy' in 'classy,' Ryan.")
