The designer collaboration to end all designer collaborations is coming to a Target and a Neiman Marcus near you this holiday season. No stranger to collabs, Target has outdone itself with this one. They’ve teamed up with high-end department store Neiman Marcus to corrall not one, not two, but 24 CFDA designers to create items for the Target + Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection.
Everyone from Marc Jacobs to Marchesa to Rodarte will design 1-3 gift-y items each for the collection, which will be sold at Target and Neiman’s, both in stores and online, starting December 1. The collection will range in price from $7.99 to $499.99, with most items under $60, and will consist of everything from men’s, women’s and children’s apparel and accessories to sporting goods, home decor, pet accessories and electronics accessories, according to WWD, and releases from Target and Nieman’s.
It’s a pretty groundbreaking project–we don’t remember this many designers ever participating in one collection before, and it’s also unusual for two big retailers to team up like this, even if they’re not really competitors. “This collaboration is unlike anything Target has done before,” Gregg Steinhafel, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Target said in a release. “Target and Neiman Marcus…[have] set the stage for a redefining moment in retail.”
Here’s how the partnership broke down:
