Back in June, Karl Lagerfeld announced his latest project: A color cosmetics line for cult fave Japanese beauty brand Shu Uemura. Karl famously said he uses the brand’s cosmetics for his sketches “because other manufacturers do not offer such beautiful colors.” Now we’re getting a peek at the aesthetic of the collection, which features some fun color and a cute mascot called “Mon Shu Girl.”
Since no launch of anything is complete without a teaser, Vogue Paris has an exclusive video of a kartoon Karl “kreating” Mon Shu girl with–what else?–Shu Uemura colors. This delightful little creature, who “blends Japanese pop with European chic,” comes to life after a smiley Karl sketches her. In a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, you can catch a glimpse of the collection, which includes a powder, blush and bright neon green eye shadow, among other things.
