Narciso Rodriguez has been quite the busy bee as of late. After recently designing a collection for Kohl's Design Nation, Rodriguez has landed a new covetable gig at another mainstream powerhouse: Banana Republic.
According to a press release, Rodriguez will begin an 'advisory role' with Banana Republic, in an effort to "build upon the strengths of the brand." For those of you wondering what exactly an advisory role means, it apparently will "allow for a top industry talent to contribute to an already strong design and product development team." In other words, Rodriguez will be giving advice to Banana Republic's Executive Vice President of Design and Creative Director, Simon Kneen, on how they can infuse the brand's offerings with Rodriguez's famed modern American sportswear aesthetic.
"Narciso's expertise will be a great complement to Simon's strengths and to our incredible design team," said President of Banana Republic, Jack Calhoun, who created the role specially for Rodriguez.
Banana Republic and Rodriguez aren't wasting any time either. According to the release, the designer will step into his new role on August 20th and will immediately begin working on the Fall 2013 collection. Obviously, we can't wait to see what he'll help cook up for the brand.
