In our giant post earlier this month about all the best Fashion’s Night Out events, we chose a couple to highlight in the headline: Scott Disick cigar rolling and Grace Coddington’s cat drawing for Balenciaga. While we still love Scott Disick, we think we’ll be making Grace Coddington’s event more of a priority on FNO, because we just got an image of her limited edition accessories collection for Balenciaga and it’s amazing.
Since fashion and cats are an unstoppable collaborative force, the Vogue creative director and known cat lover collaborated with Nicolas Ghesquiere on a limited edition ‘Pumpkin’ accessories line to launch on Fashion’s Night Out. Pumpkin is the name of Grace Coddington’s cat and the accessories–a tote and two scarves–are covered in drawings by Coddington of Pumpkin wearing iconic Balenciaga looks from the past decade. Yep: cats wearing Balenciaga.
Karl Lagerfeld may think cats in clothes are circuslike, but we think when it’s a whimsical drawing on a $1,000 Balenciaga bag (or a calendar), it’s okay. That makes sense, right?
The canvas and leather Pumpkin Papier tote, pictured here, also comes in ecru and will set you back $1,000. While that may seem like a lot, keep in mind that it’s limited edition, has drawings of cats by Grace Coddington, and 20% of all proceeds benefit the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, because animals need rescuing from the Hamptons, too.
The tote, along with two scarves, will be available starting on Fashion’s Night Out at Balenciaga stores in Los Angeles and New York, where Grace Coddington will make an appearance at the event which goes from 6-9pm. We hope she brings Pumpkin!
