Georgina Chapman told the trade, “Eveningwear evokes an emotion, and this scent does the same thing.” So if you think of iris, freesia, young violet leaves, jasmine, ambrox, and musk when you think of a Marchesa gown, then they nailed it, because those are the notes in Marchesa Parfume d’Extase. And this being Marchesa, the bottle is a reflection of the brand’s aesthetic, too. The brand’s crystal-embellished evening bags (see below) provided the inspiration for the bottle, which features “hand-set crystal accents” that look like a bow. Patrick Demarchalier shot the campaign, but no word of who (if anyone) might be in the ads.
And where and when can you get this little piece of heaven? It’s a Sephora exclusive, and you’ll be able to score it on Sephora’s site on August 24, then in stores–including the JCP outlets–in September. Prices will range from $25 for a rollerball to $85 for a 50ml bottle.
Marchesa is officially a full-fledged brand now, not just a label. With news of a line hitting JCP and a contemporary-priced line coming in 2013, Marchesa is finally accessible to the masses. Will you spritz on some of the glam scent?
