Robert Pattinson was in NYC last night for the premiere of his new film Cosmopolis. And since it’s summer and news is slow–and since he recently broke up with his Twilight girlfriend Kristen Stewart after a bizarro cheating scandal that played out via publicist-released statements in the media–people got REALLY excited (even more so than usual) about said RPatz sightings. And we’re not just talking Twi-hards. The New York Post put him on the cover with the headline “Stew U!” (he does looks really good), and Gawker live-blogged his appearance on The Daily Show.

Thank goodness he looked flawless for all of it in Gucci–Look 26 from Gucci’s 2013 cruise collection, an “azul silk cotton notch lapel two button Monaco suit with navy dress shirt and black tie,” to be precise. And if we were the sort of people to read a little too much into clothing (which we are), we’d say something like: Is he wearing blue because he’s feeling blue!?

Well, even if that was the reason, RPatz certainly didn’t show it last night on The Daily Show (he is an actor, after all). Jon Stewart did his best to make light of the break-up, offering Pattinson some melty Ben & Jerry’s to cheer him up, asking, “Are you alright?” RPatz took it all in stride, and despite saying that he doesn’t have a publicist, was really good at not saying anything about KStew or the “break-up” at all.
