Does Tavi Gevinson have some sort of goal to conquer every creative medium there is before she turns 18? With a resume that already makes us feel like we might as well just give up, Gevinson just added a whole new career: Hollywood actress.
The fashion blogger turned editor/singer/model/person who goes to high school has signed on to make her acting debut in a feature film by writer/director Nicole Holofcener, The Hollywood Reporter is reporting. She’ll play Chloe, “an only child who never received much attention from her parents, forcing her to grow up faster than her peers.” Sound familiar (except we’re sure the real Tavi has great parents)?
She has said in interviews that she’s interested in acting (and was involved in school plays), but who knew she was already, like, about to star in a movie alongside James Gandolfini and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (assuming this IMDB page is for the movie in question)? She told us earlier this year, when we interviewed her about a film she starred in for clothing label Wren:
I like acting and singing and don’t really mind modeling and, in the right contexts, would probably like to do more in the future.
THR also reports that she’s signed with UTA, a Hollywood talent agency. Of course, she’s not the first fashion blogger to do that.
She may not have much acting experience, but we have a hunch that, as with everything she does, she’ll excel. Are you excited to see Tavi on the big screen?
