BROWN: If you’re a brown-eyed girl, you’re lucky! You can pretty much rock any shade of blue. Three different makeup artists concurred. So go for anything from pastel to electric and you’ll be fine.
HAZEL/GREEN: “You want something with a tint of purple undertone to it,” Louise Zizzo, a MAC senior artist told us. “Since purple and green are complementary colors, it really helps the green pop.”
BLUE: Proceed with caution! Yet still proceed. “You want to keep the depth and show contrast, so use a deep dark blue shadow,” MAC’s Zizzo said. “For the ultimate contrast to make eyes pop (especially with light blue eyes) line on the water line very close to the lashes and smudge.” Sarah Lucero, a Pro Artist for Stila Cosmetics recommended a reddish brown base first. “Use rusty, caramel hues, [as an initial base liner] to make your eye color stand out and then you can do a burst of blue,” she said.
