The Clothes: Soft, pretty and feminine, but not overly precious. Calla Haynes is becoming known for her abstract prints and they were definitely featured heavily in this collection in various pinks and blues. The prints, clearly inspired by nature, hinted at florals. For a welcome dose of practicality, Haynes outfitted some of her dainty dresses with little jackets and windbreakers.

The Hair & Makeup: Hair was in messy, very French-looking chignons (Haynes is based in Paris). Makeup was natural and dewy.

The Soundtrack: Grimes and the like.

The Vibe: Surprisingly empty. We got there towards the end of the hour and a half allotted for the presentation, but there seemed to be more people there working than guests. It felt a bit like a photo-shoot. We liked the backdrop, which allowed us to see one of Calla's prints blown up. Also, the show was scented (more on that later).

Celebrity We'd Most Like to See Wearing this Collection: Leighton Meester or Olivia Thirlby

WTF Moment: There was a very strong, very yummy smell wafting through the space. It was created in collaboration with 12.29. They've "scented" all of her shows thus far. It added an interesting touch.

What the designer said: "When I started in April I was already thinking about what I was going to do for my August vacation. Since Paris shuts down in August I go home to Canada. I go to my cottage on the lake and I just relax, re-energize. So there's nature-inspired prints inspired by trees and light and water and everything's very calm, and then there's this very dynamic print which we used in the background which to me also represents the city. It's about the juxtaposition."
