After months and months of waiting, CR Fashion Book is finally here. Or at least the website is, anyway.

Crfashionbook.com launches today, and unsurprisingly, there is already a lot to love from the new site--most notably a foreword from Carine herself.

Roitfeld talks about the inspiration behind the first issue of the new magazine--which, characteristic of Roitfeld, didn't come from the latest runway trend, or pop culture craze or anything fashion-related at all. Instead, the first issue of CR takes its theme from something deeply personal to Carine: The birth of her grandchild.

She writes:

"When something is consuming your thoughts, you suddenly notice it everywhere. When I learned that my daughter, Julia, was expecting, I immediately began seeing babies and new mothers on planes, at fashion shows, in New York and in Paris. Birth and rebirth all around. I became obsessed. At the same time, I was thinking and dreaming about the first issue of this magazine, which you are reading now. This issue takes rebirth as its theme and is filled with both images and ideas about birth, pregnancy, and family."

Of course, this will be pregnancy and babies the Carine Roitfeld way: Sexy, sophisticated, and always with a sense of humor. A preview of a Jean-Baptiste Mondino-lensed editorial, for instance, shows a model in black gown and heels, breast-feeding a baby doll.

There's also a feature on Dr.Doll’Art, a Paris-based company founded by an art director and dental technician, which aims to "elevate the art of the grill." This editorial might be part of CR's other mission statement: To showcase fashion's rising stars.

"CR is where you’ll see new talent first," Roitfeld writes in the foreword. "I’ve edited the magazine to be a who’s who of the next generation, as well as an ode to fashion’s legends and icons. Created with humor, joy, grace, and always a dash of irreverence."

Now all we have to do is hang tight until CR hits newsstands September 13. We can't wait.
