The Clothes: An ultra modern collection. Neoprene and leather were worked into 3-d shapes, like “backpacks” that were actually incorporated into tops. Electric blue and orange punctuated the mostly black and white collection. A twisted cut-out plaiting technique (which wowed us in Lee’s resort collection, too) was applied to leather jackets and the back of skirts which took the generally strong, simple shapes to new levels.
What the Line Sheets Said: “Transit, Transient, Transition, Transport”
The Hair and Makeup: Bronzed faces with a wash of brown on the eyelids. Hair was down, parted in the middle and usually tucked into the clothes. The bottom of the hair–when you could see it–was tied in a loose knot.
The Vibe: Held in a former dairy, it was a sparse, white space that was a perfect backdrop for the ultra high-tech modern offerings. Think chic alien queens.
The Soundtrack: Moody, futuristic and instrumental.
The Front Row: Susie Bubble
Celeb We’d Like to See Wearing It: Charlize Theron
What the Designer Said: On the occasion of his first London runway show: “It was a little bit stressful backstage!…For the collection, it was this idea of being in transit and clothes that feel quite transient in a way. [The built-in backpacks] are all actually functional.”
WTF Moment: That model’s abs (see above).
