The Clothes: There's no doubt that the Dolce & Gabbana woman is sexy, sultry, and above all, Sicilian--and for Spring 2013, designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana took her on a trip to the beach. In the late '50s, early '60s. There were colorful raffia dresses, frocks made out of sacks, embellished tropical prints and stripes--lots of stripes. Like at Marc Jacobs the stripes ran vertical as well as horizontal, and varied in width but unlike Jacobs' mod monochromatic iterations, these came in bright green, blue and orange, recalling beach balls or beach umbrellas. Dolce & Gabbana also took time to revisit some of the brand's classics: Black, semi-sheer pieces with high-waisted underwear styled underneath, and of course, little corset dresses, the latter of which was made out of traditional Sicilian basket weave and prompted a round of applause from the audience.

The Hair & Makeup: Who was looking at the hair and makeup? All I could see was massive colorful chandelier earrings and playful headscarves.

The Soundtrack: Operatic.

The Front Row: Bianca Balti, Laetitia Casta.

Celebrity We'd Most Like to See Wearing It: Sophia Loren in her heyday.
