Gwyneth Paltrow is really pushing out the Goop brand partnerships lately. On the heels of her sales-driving editorial (advertorial?) for J. Crew comes a collaboration with clothing brand Chinti & Parker.
Paltrow designed two limited edition sweaters with the brand, which just launched exclusively on her lifestyle site Goop, as part of her online store, the Goop Collection. And they happen to be really cute. We’d want the heart-covered intarsia sweater or the one-pocket striped sweater (both of which have elbow patches and are 100% cashmere) even if Gwyneth had nothing to do with them. Like most things in Gwyneth’s life, the sweaters are a little pricey at $515 and $485.
“Goop shares many ethical and stylistic values with Chinti and Parker, from a commitment to sustainability and better living to a love of timeless, beautifully made clothing,” said Anna Singh, co-founder of Chinti and Parker, of the collab.
This is the third time Gwyneth and Goop have collaborated with a brand–she developed a t-shirt with Kain and a pair of jeans with MiH, and posed for an editorial similar to the J. Crew one with Net-a-Porter back in March. It’s also one of many non-acting-related projects she’s been involved in recently. Co-hosting this week’s Obama fundraising dinner with Tom Ford and Anna Wintour is one other example.
Of course, celebrities partnering with brands and designers is nothing new. But Gwyneth doesn’t seem like someone who would do it just for the money or publicity. Could she be angling to switch gears from acting to fashion? We certainly wouldn’t mind!
