The Clothes: J. JS Lee is a Newgen winner who’s been showing at LFW since 2010. This collection was minimal with simple lines–her signature–in a palette of navy, acid yellow, and white. Long column dresses and sleek tops showcased a very subtle brick pattern, which was an homage to the Berlin Wall.
What the Line Sheets Said: “Inspired during a summer holiday in Berlin, the collection has been designed with a strong focus on contrast–fusing inspiration and references of Berlin’s bold contemporary graphic art alongside the historic structures of the iconic wall itself.”
The Hair & Makeup: A side part that was slicked on one side and messy on the other. Makeup was natural with a brown smokey eye.
The Vibe: Simple and quiet, it was in the intimate Portico Show Room space at Somerset House, which is a great venue to see fashion up close.
The Soundtrack: Repetitive instrumental.
The Front Row: Buyers, bloggers, and what I’m guessing were fashion students.
Celeb We’d Like to See Wearing It: Tilda Swinton
WTF Moment: Someone may have dropped her notebook really loudly while the show was going on. It may have been me. Sorry, J. JS Lee.
