As we mentioned earlier, Joan Smalls was in the building for last night's Destination IMAN launch party at the Dream Hotel. The number one model in the world (according to Models.com) entered the room, and like when Charlie Murphy first saw Rick James, we could totally see an aura around her. Except this was an aura of grace, class, and effortless perfection as opposed to... well, whatever it was Mr. James was emanating.

Anyhow, the Puerto Rican beauty made a beeline for Iman, who actually bowed down to Joan (in a low-key Wayne's World 'we're not worthy' style). Ms. Smalls returned the gesture. Our brains struggled to process the amazing exchange. After snapping a series of mind-blowingly gorgeous pics with Iman, we cornered Joan to ask about her new gig co-hosting MTV's House of Style with Karlie Kloss.

The model told us how the whole thing came about: "I heard about the opportunity through my agency, and we just jumped on it. We met a producer, we did an audition tape, and here we are!" She says she's already started filming with Karlie (oh, to be a fly on the wall during those takes), and their dynamic is on point. "We've always been friends, so it comes extremely naturally," she said. "We just feed off each other's energy, and I think it's a good thing that we get along so well."

While they haven't actually started interviewing folks, Joan dished to us that she would love to do a one-on-one with the notoriously camera shy Steven Meisel. We'd love to see that interview!
