The Clothes: Sculptural, sporty and straight-up cool. After a week of seeing big-name designers with established styles, it was refreshing to see Goldin’s completely fresh and unique take on Spring 2013. Her knit, color-blocked separates and slinky dresses were equal parts sexy, modern and classic–a tenuous balance to strike, no doubt. And, best of all, the collection was stuff we would actually want to wear in our regular day–like that gold-sleeved jacket or the metallic skirt. The fact that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West sat front row, with relatively little fanfare, was a testament to how strongly Goldin’s collection spoke on it’s own–no big-name celebrity endorsements required (though, of course, it didn’t hurt).
The Hair & Makeup: Hair was swept over models faces and pulled into a pony, giving the impression that hair was blowing in the wind, covering their faces. Makeup was minimal.
The Soundtrack: Diplo spun
The Vibe: Twenty minutes after the show was supposed to start, the venue was still relatively empty. Though if people had known Kimye was about to arrive, no doubt there would have been hordes.
