Move Over Ryan Lochte: Olympic Gold-Medalist Sanya Richards-Ross Wants To Get Into the Fashion Biz

We've already stalked hung out with Olympic gold medalist (and aspiring fashion designer) Ryan Lochte this week, and yesterday we spotted yet another Olympic star with fashion leanings: Track champion Sanya Richards-Ross. We chatted with Richards-Ross about her plans to get into the fashion business, how Kerry Washington admires her style, and (of course) that hair.

We've already stalked hung out with Olympic gold medalist (and aspiring fashion designer) Ryan Lochte this week, and yesterday we spotted yet another Olympic star with fashion leanings: Track champion Sanya Richards-Ross.

Richards-Ross, one of the fastest women in the world, received another gold medal yesterday--this time for her sartorial prowess--at BCBG's spring show. The 27-year-old boldly donned a sexy sheer BCBG jumpsuit that left little to the imagination. (Though with those abs, how could you not show 'em off?)

We chatted with Richards-Ross about her plans to get into the fashion business, how Kerry Washington admires her style, and (of course) that hair.

Tell me about your hair. It was kind of a phenomenon during the Olympics. Sanya Richards-Ross: Well my sister and I own a hair extension line so we're obsessed with hair. We change it up constantly. I was curly for the Olympics, but I wanted to do something different today so I went straight and fierce with my fierce dress.

You look so sexy! How did you pick out this outfit? I tried a few things out but this just embodied what I was feeling, which was sexy, but not too much [that] my husband [NFL-er Aaron Ross] wouldn't approve. It fit very well and I liked it.

Is fashion important to you? Yeah! It's in my bones! If you'd seen my grandmother going to the grocery store you'd think she was going to eat lunch with the Obamas. We're always dressed up no matter where we're going. And I'm always bringing fashion to the tracks. Just being here is one of my dreams, of course getting the gold was my first.

After your win, you must have gotten a lot of compliments. What was the best one you got? Well I got so many on Twitter and stuff from a lot of celebs. Kerry Washington said she loved what I wear, and I love her. I got a lot of love not just from celebrities but from fans and I love it--and that's what's inspiring.

You're already in the hair business. Do you ever want to get into the fashion business? I do, I do! I want to have my own line one day. That'd be my ultimate dream come true. I want to learn more about it and hopefully I can get more involved.

How did you get ready today? It's funny, I went to the Chelsea Lately show [in Los Angeles] last night and then we [we flew here, and landed] at 5am. I did my makeup and then came here.

You did your own? Well, I don't always but today I did, because I couldn't find anyone who'd wake up and meet me this early. My hairstylist did my hair yesterday so I just kind of touched it up and was ready to go!
