Filled with Anderson’s signature quirky patterns and motifs–think paisley tops and cartoony print sweaters–as well as more sedated, wearable pieces–drool-worthy baseball jackets, and cute shift dresses–the collaboration is everything we love about the British Fashion Award-winning designer. At affordable Topshop prices. Thank you.
“I think [this collaboration] still has the same story-telling element [as my ready-to-wear line],” Anderson told Vogue UK. “It’s for the same girl and is based upon the same idea. I feel collaborations should be a reflection, not something that veers off into another zone. The high street and the luxury market are inherently close. Without one the other doesn’t exist. I feel like that is modernity now.”
The collaboration will hit stores and online September 14, to coincide with the launch of London Fashion Week, because, as Anderson says, “Topshop is integral to London Fashion Week. It’s everything that sums it up.”
The 55-piece collection will include everything from outerwear to trousers to shoes to stationary. And if you’re unable to score a piece from this first collection (we have a feeling it might go quick), don’t fret: A second JW Anderson for Topshop collection will hit stores early 2013.
