Proenza Schouler's Standout Spring Collection Was Inspired By the Internets

Yet again, Proenza Schouler's Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez sent out a great collection that showed strength and originality. Things got real nuts (in a good way) towards the end of the collection when various digital prints (including photoprints that almost looked abstract) cut into bias strips were patchworked together on dresses and landscape prints were covered in silver grommets. Apparently those fantastic digital prints were inspired by the Internets.

Yet again, Proenza Schouler's Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez sent out a great collection that showed strength and originality. Sadly, we weren't actually there, but this collection was so awesome we had to post it anyway.

In the first half of the collection, jackets were boxy; snakeskin and leather was boldly dyed, shiny and perforated; and skirts were low-slung and belted. Then came beautiful fitted, printed silk dresses that fluttered at the bottom. Things got real nuts (in a good way) at the end when various digital prints (including photoprints that almost looked abstract) cut into bias strips were patchworked together on dresses and landscape prints were covered in silver grommets. Apparently those fantastic digital prints were inspired by the Internets. It was ambitious to say the least, and was followed by an awesome after party at Irving Plaza where we got our very own cat hats! (See?)

The excellent collection was just icing on the cake for the Proenza boys, who just opened up a new store on Madison Avenue, and good thing, since only Madison Avenue customers will be able to afford all of these exotic skins.
