About a year ago, the CFDA released its first ever “design manifesto,” a poster that was sent out to members as part of a mission to fight design counterfeiting. This year, they’ve given the poster a little redesign.
The CFDA collaborated with Box Studios to create a new manifesto that features a bold graphic that emulates thread going through a needle. The manifesto has been sent out to all CFDA members as well as about 1000 friends of the CFDA along with a notebook and a letter from Steven Kolb.
More than just a nice little gift, the manifesto is meant to encourage designers to think independently and design with integrity. It may not be legislation, but it’s an important message that some designers definitely need to be reminded of. Copying’s not just illegal–it’s boring.
