threeASFOUR Spring 2013

The Clothes: A funny thing happened at The Hole yesterday. Adi Gil, Angela Donhauser, and Gabriel Asfour–who we’ve always loved for their conceptual exercises like cutting fractal patterns in leather or parading girls dressed in stringed instruments through the Saatchi & Saatchi HQ, say–showed clothes that were not only wearable, but wearable above 14th. Think athletic-inspired multicolor silk tunic dresses and Lycra leggings. But not everything was so straightforward. Said Adi of the billowing capes several models wore, “We’re expressing aura–when you move you have this kind of vibration that has to do with the unseen energies of the human magnetic field.”

The Hair & Makeup: One word: unibrows. They were purple. And totally chic.

The Soundtrack: Reassuringly un-Shazamable. Said the trio: “It was a remix we made in a collabration with Ben Brunnemer from the soundtrack of the Italian horror film Suspiria!”

The Vibe: Arty party.

The Front Row: No Yoko this season, but Sean Lennon and Cibo Matto lead singer Yuka Honda turned up, as did Waris Ahluwalia, Kyle DeWoody, Arden Wohl, and a couple of ineffably hip eight-year-olds.

Celeb We’d Most Like to See Wearing It: Sanya Richards-Ross! Tell us the insane mirrored platforms wouldn’t look amazing with the heavy metal accessories the Olympian has been sporting this week at Lincoln Center.
