The Deets on Brad Pitt's $7 Million Chanel No. 5 Campaign

Remember back in May when Chanel announced that Brad Pitt would be the first-ever male face of Chanel No. 5? So, that was real, and we're going to see what the ad looks like in less than two weeks.

Chanel gave WWD a behind-the-scenes image of Pitt on the set of the commercial, shot by Joe Wright. The campaign features the commercial--debuting October 15--and print ad which will start appearing in November glossies. So what can we expect from this campaign?

While Chanel didn't spill a lot of details to WWD, it's clear from the above photo that Pitt didn't bother shaving or getting a haircut for Chanel. So expect him to be scruffy. Andrea d'Avack, the president of Chanel Fragrance and Beauty told WWD that Pitt will be speaking "in a way that the viewer assumes he’s speaking to a woman," but then we figure out he's actually talking to the perfume. We're not quite sure what that means but if it involves Brad Pitt pretend talking to us (even if he's really talking to a bottle), well, that sounds just fine.

Chanel isn't skimping on the budget for this campaign, either. They wouldn't spill exactly how much they were spending, but industry sources estimated that they put out at least $10 million on US advertising, and an additional $7 million just to get Brad Pitt. Whoa. That's a lot of Cheetos for his brood.

While we've had celebrity fragrance ad fatigue for a while now, we absolutely can't wait to see this one.
