The Scene: You never know what to expect when you walk inside the tent at the the Cour Carree Du Louvre. Last season it was an $8 million steam train. Before that it was a carousel.
This season, there was a set of four escalators leading down to a glossy yellow-checked runway. The structure was created by conceptual artist Daniel Buren, whose work, Les Deux Plateax (an 1986 installation at the Palais Royal comprised of 260 licorice striped columns all laid out on a grid), inspired the collection.
Before the show started waiters served espresso and cocktails (choose your poison), quail eggs with caviar and tiny tea sandwiches.
