The varsity jacket trend slowly grew on me over the last year. By this fall, I had to have one.

But I didn’t want one of the oversized boxy ones and I didn’t want one that looked like I was an extra in Grease.

And then I saw it. Calling to me from Madewell’s website. She was perfect. A maroon body (a big color for fall) with black leather sleeves and a super slim fit. I get tons of compliments on it and that always feels nice. Some random dude on the street even yelled “Nice coat!” at me the other day when I was wearing it. It’s that good.
