The Front Row: This was the most A-list front row I’ve ever laid eyes on.

France’s First Girlfriend Valérie Trierweiler sat between Anna Wintour and Pierre Bergé. Yves Saint Laurent’s muse Betty Catroux was also there.

Designers came out in droves to support Slimane, including those from Saint Laurent owner PPR’s rival fashion conglomerate LVMH. Azzedine Alaia was there as was Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg, former YSL designer Alber Elbaz, Peter Dundas, and Riccardo Tisci.

And as for celebrities: Jessica Chastain, the face of the new YSL fragrance, showed up looking gorgeous in polka dots; Kate Moss and husband Jamie Hince–whose rock aesthetic aligns neatly with Slimane’s were there; and Salma Hayek was there, of course, with her husband, PPR CEO François-Henri Pinault.

Notably absent: Cathy Horyn.
