Is Kate Middleton finally getting out of her sartorial comfort zone?

We’ve come to expect a certain fashion formula when it comes to the Duchess (simple frocks, loose curls in her hair), but from the looks of last night’s event, a reception for the Team GB Olympic and Paralympic medalists at Buckingham Palace, K.Midd is starting to mix it up a bit.

The Duchess wore an Alice Temperley dress with sheer sleeves embroidered with flowers–far more embellishment than her regular fare.

And her hair! Her hair was a little bit straighter, and a little bit sleeker. BIG CHANGE PEOPLE. We like it.
