Kate Upton Lands Another Vogue Editorial, Says She Sets a ‘Good Example’ in the Fashion Industry

If you needed further proof that Kate Upton was no flash-in-the-pan overnight sensation well, here you go. Behold: Upton’s most recent Vogue profile–the model-of-the-moment’s second in under six months.

Continuing their case for Upton’s high fashion potential, Vogue dressed the curvaceous model in Jason Wu, Narciso Rodriguez and a minimalist Calvin Klein ensemble. Of course they weren’t about to book Upton–queen of the swimsuit–and completely cover up her best assets (yep, we’re talking boobs here). Two swimsuit photos made their way into the seven-page spread–one of which even looks like it could have appeared in the pages of Maxim. A very uncharacteristic move for Vogue, indeed.

But then Upton is a master at getting people out of their comfort zones. The model is all too aware of how unlikely a model sensation she initially seemed in the fashion industry. “You know, actually, I don’t really know why [the industry has] chosen me,” she said. “But I am excited because I love fashion. And I am excited to be in a place where I can be a good example.”

She continued:

“I don’t want to starve myself. I still want to hang out with my family and be a normal girl. You have to be confident, and that doesn’t mean starving yourself. I think it’s important to look at magazines and think a healthy lifestyle is attainable. Now that the fashion industry likes the idea of me, I’m happy if I can have an influence.”

Amen, sister!
