Kate Upton has just pulled a modeling coup that should silence her naysayers for a while: She’s gone from Sports Illustrated cover girl to Vogue cover girl, all in less than a year’s time.
Though one thing remains the same on both Upton’s SI and Vogue Italia covers: Her cups, they runneth over.
Vogue Italia just revealed that Upton is its November cover girl, wearing Fendi fur and a Patricia Field bustier. Steven Meisel shot the voluptuous model for the “Helmut Newton-style” cover: It’s all big hair, big lipstick, and, obviously, big boobs.
Upton’s latest cover girl stint feels long in coming: Shortly after appearing on SI‘s cover and later a very campy and revealing Terry Richardson-lensed GQ cover (during which her boobs popped out on a roller coaster), Upton managed to land a profile in US Vogue, in which the mag pondered whether she was high fashion material. And it must have decided she is–because she just scored an editorial in the current November issue. Carine Roitfeld embraced her, too, shooting her as the cover girl for the first issue of her new glossy, CR Fashion Book.
Any predictions on when she’ll make her high-end campaign debut, and which label will it be for?
