After just one modeling gig, Liu Xianping is drawing comparisons to Karl Lagerfeld and is gaining praise for his amazing stems–oh, and he’s a 72-year-old grandfather.

Yes, that’s Liu in the images above, and he’s modeling designs from his granddaughter’s online boutique, Shanghaiist is reporting. He was helping his granddaughter unpack the clothing, and started giving advice on how to mix and match the pieces. “We thought it was fun so we started shooting,” she said of the images that have now circled the web.

And Liu sees no problem wearing women’s clothing.

Why unacceptable (for someone like me to wear women’s clothes)? Modelling for the store is helping my granddaughter and I have nothing to lose. We were very happy on the day of the shooting. I’m very old and all that I care about is to be happy.

We hope we’re this cool when we’re older.
