President Obama may have won the election--and his wife and girls won our never-ending admiration--but we have to give a shout out to Ann Romney and her Election Night style too.

Mrs. Romney wore red, the traditional color of the Republican party, and it was an optimistic and symbolic choice. She really shone in the color when she wore that Oscar de la Renta frock at the Republican National Convention, and she looked great again last night. The dress (we'll update when we figure out who the designer is), a fitted sheath with elbow length sleeves, looked sleek and chic, especially paired with big modern clear beads (as opposed to something more conservative, like pearls.) Her updo--always a risky choice because they can skew matronly--actually worked, thanks to the artfully messy pieces on the sides.

Despite the fact that the fashion industry never embraced Ann Romney, she's doing just fine on her own. Now that she's out of the spotlight for a while, maybe she'll indulge her edgier side and cook up some cool looks with her go-to designer, Alfred Fiandaca.
