Victoria Beckham can add a new distinction to her already ten-page-long list of accomplishments: The pop-star-cum-fashion-designer has just been named one of the judges of the prestigious International Woolmark Prize, Vogue UK is reporting.
And Beckham is certainly in good company: Donatella Versace and Diane von Furstenberg have also joined the judging panel this year, alongside Vogue Italia EIC Franca Sozzani and Style.com’s Tim Blanks.
Together, the judges will decide who out of finalists Sophie Theallet, Christian Wijnants, Ban Xiao Xiu, Dion Lee, DRESSEDUNDRESSED, and Pankaj & Nidhi, will take home the prize for world’s best Merino wool designer. The lucky designer will be named on February 16 2013 as part of London Fashion Week, and will be awarded a sponsorship fund of $100,000, and their collection picked up by the world’s leading retailers, including Harvey Nichols, Bergdorf Goodman, 10 Corso Como and more.
This is only the latest coup for Victoria Beckham, who, like the Olsens, has proven even to skeptics that she’s a legitimate force in the fashion industry.
