In June, another bombshell detonated. We broke the news that Yves Saint Laurent would be dropping the ‘Yves‘ and would now be referred to merely as Saint Laurent. Cue the outrage. While Saint Laurent issued several reasonable explanations behind the rebranding strategy, some fashion lovers continued to be miffed about the new name and logo–a situation that was not necessarily helped by Hedi Slimane’s debut at the house, which many critics viewed as lackluster.
