Anna Wintour May Have an Actual UK Ambassador Nomination to Turn Down

Earlier this year, speculation mounted in the British press that Anna Wintour--who'd become a top-tier fundraiser for Barack Obama--was angling for a UK ambassador job. The Vogue EIC has always denied having any personal political ambitions, but a new report in Bloomberg suggests that, now that Obama has been re-elected, she may have an actual job offer to turn down.

From Bloomberg:

President Barack Obama is considering nominating Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue, as his next ambassador to either the U.K. or France as he looks to reward his biggest fundraisers with embassies never out of fashion, according to two people familiar with the matter.

The U.K. and France would certainly be the most fashionable ambassadorships for Wintour--even if she reportedly doesn't want the job. A spokesperson for Vogue told Bloomberg, “She’s very happy with her current job."

So, Vogue's not not saying it would never happen, right? We still think it's unlikely, but who knows? Should we play the who would replace Anna at Vogue game anyway?
