Editor's Pick: Hayley's Silky Printed Pants

I fell in love with these pants pretty much the moment I saw them staring out from J.Crew's always-perfectly styled catalog. But on the advice of friends who had perfectly reasonable things to say like, "You're going to pay $300 for a pair of silk pajama pants?" and "They're cute but, you won't be able to wear them past fall," I resisted snapping them up. For about a week.

Then in early October I caved and bought them. And, in lieu of saying "I told you so" to all my friends the naysayers, I would just like to say: I am currently wearing them right now. In December. And I've worn them many, many times before and plan on wearing them many times more. So, there.

These pants are surprisingly versatile and wearable - I've worn them out with a fancy top or to work with a sweater (currently I'm wearing them with a turtleneck.) And, thanks to their double layer of thick silk they're not too drafty-- though, if you do tend to get chilly, you can totally wear them with tights.

I'm so happy I bought them, and I don't even regret paying full price for them. Even though they're now on sale for half the price ($149). Reap the rewards of patience and go get them here.
