Marc Jacobs vs. the fashion blogosphere and underage, unpaid models
Jezebel wrote an article highlighting an up-and-coming model’s blog–specifically the part where she said that Marc Jacobs pays his models in trade instead of money, and makes them work unreasonable hours. A couple of other outlets picked up the story and the company responded via Twitter that “models are paid in trade. If they don’t want to work with us they don’t have to.” Then, whomever was manning the Twitter kind of insulted Jenna Saurs’s Twitter bio and continued to be defiant.

Moral of the story? Don’t fuck with the people at Marc Jacobs. Or do, but don’t expect them to concede.
