Marc Jacobs vs. Kidult
Marc Jacobs’s feud with French graffiti artist Kidult has to be one of our favorites this year because it’s just so… meta? Ironic?

Kidult graffiti’d the word “Art” really big on Jacobs’s Mercer Street store, and Jacobs retaliated by selling a limited edition “Art by Art Jacobs” tee (featuring a photo of the graffiti’d facade) for $689. The t-shirt war continued with Kidult making one of his own with himself pictured, graffiti-ing the “Art.” Then it all kind of fizzled and we wondered if it was just a publicity stunt.

Perhaps 2013 will be the year of staged publicity stunt beefs?
