The Breakout Fashion Industry Stars of 2012

Breakout TV Star: Carlyne Cerf De Dudzeele

HBO’s recent documentary, In Vogue: The Editor’s Eye, got us acquainted with all of Vogue’s legendary fashion editors from past to present, but it was Cerf who stood out the most. The French stylist—who helped create the cover image for Anna Wintour’s very first issue as editor in chief—is heralded as the creator of the high/low era. Her on-screen performance had an animated appeal that viewers found irresistible. Between her cartoonish Gallic accent and enthusiastic review of street fashion, it was Cerf who stole the limelight, drawing immediate comparison to Grace Coddington’s underdog star turn in The September Issue.
