This is a trend that’s been a favorite of flamboyant pop singers (and our very own Nora, who has documented every tragic nail break on her Instagram). Our favorite was when Adele did the Louboutin nail, painting the underside of her talons red.

Verdict: They’re visually stunning and slightly intimidating, but let’s face it: The squoval is so much easier for people who do more than hold a microphone for a living.
