You may know Francesca Eastwood best as the daughter of Clint Eastwood, the star of short-lived reality show Mrs. Eastwood & Company (more on that later), or the girlfriend of Birkin-destroying photographer Tyler Shields. This week, however, she’s Miss Golden Globe.
For those of you who don’t know, the Miss Golden Globe title is awarded each year by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, traditionally to the daughter of a celebrity. Duties include assisting at the Golden Globes, sometimes handing out awards, and generally looking gorgeous in a gown onstage.
To celebrate the honor, Eastwood was feted at a luncheon Wednesday at the Chateau Marmont’s Selma House hosted by LoveGold. Wearing Armani and Jennifer Meyer jewelry, the guest of honor was as incandescent as the gold jewelry on display from H. Stern, Hoorsenbuhs, and Fashionista favorites Pamela Love and House of Waris.
After oohing and ahhing over the jewelry, we sat down with Eastwood, who was almost unnervingly charming, to discuss her reaction to being chosen as Miss Golden Globe, who she’ll wear, her family’s reality show, and yes, her thoughts on the Birkin incident.
Given her pedigree, it’s unsurprising that she’s handled her selection with ease. Her father is a legendary Golden Globe and Academy Award-winning actor/director and her mother, Frances Fisher, is an actress known for films such as Titanic and Unforgiven. Eastwood said her favorite Miss Golden Globe is probably her older sister Katie, who was selected in 2005. Her little sister Morgan, 15, is “so jealous” that Francesca was chosen this year, but was assured that the Hollywood Foreign Press will call her in a few years since the honor is becoming “a family thing.”
Eastwood wears Armani so effortlessly that she and her stylist Deborah Waknin chose two Armani looks for the show itself, and a white gown by Barcelona-based wedding designer Pronovias for the red carpet. Even though, she says, “everyone is against wearing white” for awards shows.
As fans of E!’s guilty pleasure Mrs. Eastwood & Company, we were sad to learn the hit reality show about Eastwood’s family and the South African boy band her stepmom manages will not be returning for a second season. Eastwood said the type of attention that came with a family reality show caused “a lot of stress.” However, she is ready to launch her acting career, and just wrapped her first feature film since she was 8, Final Girl, directed, of course, by her boyfriend Tyler Shields.
Speaking of Shields, the controversial photographer apparently bought Eastwood an orange Birkin bag to make up for that one he had her cut up and light on fire–which he subsequently took photos of, pissing a lot of people off. She emphasized that she “loves Hermes” and “had no idea what [she] was getting into” with the infamous photos. But just to be safe, we had Eastwood confirm that the new Birkin is still intact. And, for the record, she is “more of a Kelly fan.”
