Marnie’s Party Look/Shoes in Bed
For her third belted look of the day (unbelted, everything is probably too big), Marnie’s outfit looks like something Kate Middleton might wear to play croquet with some British children–that is to say, it’s a little uptight, but pretty. It’s also really awkward to take off in her sex scene with Elijah (Rogien tells The Cut that’s intentional). Later on, Marnie gets into bed with Charlie because she “can’t sleep alone” wearing not only her dress, but her shoes, too. Not only do people not get into bed with shoes one, but I would have been dying to take off those heels at the end of a pretty long day/night. I guess they had to do something to remind us this is a scripted TV show.
