Get ready for some fast fashion at Paris Fashion Week: H&M is putting on a runway show.
The Swedish retail giant plans to show around 25 looks from its fall 2013 collection on the second day of Paris fashion week, February 27.
“In the past we have done fantastic and spectacular events and fashion shows with our designer collaborations and we feel it is time to celebrate our own fashion,” a spokesperson tells us.
It will mark the first runway show (designer collaborations not included) H&M has put on in eight years and the first time the brand has ever showed their seasonal collection during fashion week. (The brand last showcased their fashion on the runway in Central Park in 2005.) And since it’s H&M, they picked Paris. Go big or go home, right?
And in keeping with that “go big” philosophy, the brand will show at the Musée Rodin, a venue that has previously hosted designers like Yves Saint Laurent and Dior.
Et tu, Zara? Mango?
