Sleek, Traditional Updos:
After many seasons of messy side buns or super tall top knots, slowly but surely more traditional styles have been showing up back on the runway. The fact that women from two different generations (Julianne Moore and Zosia Mamet) went for classics like simple chignons and French twists just goes to prove how, well, classic they are.
How-To: Chris McMillan (Jennifer Aniston’s stylist and newly minted Living Proof Hairstylist) did Moore’s 60s-esque updo–he was inspired by Hitchcock heroines.
After applying Living Proof Prime Style Extender and styling spray, McMillan dried her hair straight with a round brush. He made a deep side part and pulled it back into an uneven French twist. He secured it with pins and finished it off with hairspray. (I recommend getting a friend to help you, although the Rockettes all do their own French twists, so it’s definitely do-able.)
